One Vanderbilt shines like a beacon to the world with its iconic shape that sets new standards for architecture in New York. At 427 meters tall, One Vanderbilt is the tallest commercial skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan and among the 30 tallest buildings in the world.

Where is One Vanderbilt located?

One Vanderbilt’s observation deck is located on the 59th floor and features two areas that protrude from the facade and have a glass floor. From there, you can look down on Madison Avenue from a height of over 310 meters. It is the fourth tallest skyscraper in all of New York and also the fourth tallest observation deck in the city. One Vanderbilt cost a total of more than $3 billion to build.

When should I visit One Vanderbilt?

A good time to visit the observation decks is in the late afternoon and stay there for 2 to 3 hours, because then you will see the view of New York by day and by night.

However, the best time to visit Summit One Vanderbilt is early morning and early afternoon. During these hours you will get the best view from the glass elevators and glass boxes that pop out of the building!

One Vanderbilt hours of operation

Hours of operation for the observation deck vary by day. Wednesday & Thursday: 1pm – 9pm, Friday & Saturday: 9am – 11pm, Sunday: 10am – 9pm

The observatory of One Vanderbilt

This 6,038 square meter entertainment space spans four floors of the 427 meter One Vanderbilt. The SUMMIT experience includes:

Levitation – a series of glass boxes protruding from the building above Madison Avenue. They are 324 meters in the air!

Air – This immersive art space has panoramic views of Manhattan. The centerpiece of Air is a mirrored room that creates the illusion of endless space.

APRÈS – an outdoor terrace on the south and west sides of One Vanderbilt.

Ascent – Ride the glass elevator up 12 more floors to the SUMMIT’s highest point at 365 meters. The elevators travel the height of the exterior of the building offering a thrilling experience with stunning views. Tickets with Ascent access cost more than general admission tickets. Don’t forget to look down. The floor is transparent!!!

Food and drinks, including cocktails, are available for purchase at Après, indoors and on the outdoor terrace.

Professional photos are available during your tour, and can be purchased at the end of your visit in both print and digital formats.

To best appreciate SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, guests must fully experience the glass floors, mirrored walls and ceilings. All guests must wear appropriate clothing, including footwear that will not damage the mirrored floors, such as stiletto heels and heeled boots. Guests concerned about unwanted exposure as a result of mirrored floors and ceilings are responsible for dressing in a manner to avoid such exposure. In general, it is good for women to avoid wearing skirts or dresses.

Food and beverages must only be consumed within designated areas of the experience. No outside food or drink allowed.
